Opera gala concert to open “Skopje Summer 2014″

The 35th cultural manifestation “Skopje Summer” is to begin June 21 – the World Music Day and the first day of summer, with an opera gala concert at the Macedonian Opera and Ballet.

Apart from the opening ceremony in MOB, the first day of the festival will also include a presentation of Goce Nanevski’s multimedia project – “Monument” at “Mala Stanica” and an all-day performance of street musicians organized by the Universal Hall.

Traditionally, “Skopje Summer” will last untill the end of July, offering a rich programme with a number of events from various cultural fields. The organizer – the Directorate for Culture and Arts – Skopje announced Thusday the programme in a press release.

Director Mirko Stefanovski said that over 2,200 events have been realized within the frames of “Skopje Summer” over the past 35 years, out of which many other manifestations across Macedonia have emerged.
