Macedonian Ethno Music Group Baklava to Open Days of Slavic Culture in the Czech Republic


Macedonian ethno music group Baklava will open the 2nd Days of Slavic Culture Festival with its performance in the House of Culture in Kromeriz, in the East of the Czech Republic, on May 30, Czech media reports.

The festival aimed to create a platform for cooperation and natural presentation of the Slavic countries this year will present the Macedonian and the Russian culture.

Apart the first concert of the world famous group Baklava, that cherishes the traditional folk song, in the Czech Republic with the participation of several distinguished guests, two prestigious exhibitions of the Macedonian Gallery Osten and the Russian cartoonist Fedor Vic are planned, Parlamentni Listy newspaper says in its article, noting the significant role of the Macedonian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Pascal Stojceski, in the organization f the event.


At the opening of the festival, the visitors will have the opportunity to taste wine from the Macedonian winery “Stobi ".

The presentation of the Macedonian culture takes place in the year that marks the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Czech Republic, on occasion of which many cultural events and activities were held in both countries in the past few months.

The city of Kromeriz was selected because of its historical role as the natural center of the culture and the education and the merger with the Cyril and Methodius tradition through the canonized Orthodox Bishop Gorazd II (Matej Pavlik).
