Japanese Film Week in Skopje

 
The Japanese Film Week kicked off Friday evening at Cinemateque of Macedonia, in the wake of the 20th anniversary of Macedonian-Japanese diplomatic ties.

Vienna-based Japanese Ambassador to Macedonia, Makoto Taketoshi attended the event.

"Sincere friendship and mutual understanding has marked the Macedonian-Japanese relations for twenty years now", Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Poposki said.

In order to enhance the diplomatic, economic and cultural relations, Macedonia has opened an embassy in Tokyo in 2013. This year Macedonia will send its first ambassador to Japan, Poposki added.


Taketoshi expressed content with the continuous development of bilateral relations, mentioning several projects realized with the support from the Japanese Government. Welcoming the newly appointed Macedonian ambassador to Japan, he wished for even more fruitfull cooperation in future.

This year’s programme includes masterpieces of the Japanese cinematography from most renowned movie makers as Akehi Masayuki, Masahiro Shinoda and Satsuo Yamamoto.
