International productions to feature in Macedonia Shakespeare Festival


Productions from around the world will feature in the first edition of the Shakespeare Festival in Bitola, a small city in the south of Macedonia, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

"The city is prepared to welcome all the guests from Macedonia and beyond," Bitola mayor Vladimir Taleski and the director of the Bitola National Theater Valentin Svetozarev told a news conference.

Productions will include "Richard III" by the Beijing National Theater, "King Lear" by a troupe from Leipzig, "Othello" by a company from Amsterdam.

Companies from Slovenia, Serbia, the United States and Russia will also take part in the festival taking place in July.
