MILE KOSTOV'S BOOK WINS BEST NOVEL AWARD BY GJURGA PUBLISHING HOUSE

"Mission" by Mile Kostov won Monday the award for best novel in a competition opened by "Gjurga" publishing house last year to mark 25 years since its establishment.

21 manuscripts were submitted as the winning novel was chosen by academic Katica Kjulavkova.

"The novel opens a new page in Macedonia's literature in the sci-fi genre. I recommend this work also due to the fact that Macedonia's fate, its vision as 'a navel of the world' on one hand and the fate of the world on the other is presented in a modern fashion," she said.

"Mission" is a debut novel by Mile Kostov, who is a wine broker. The book will be promoted at this year's book fair.

Established in 1987, "Gjurga" is the first independent publishing house in Macedonia. Annually, it produces 60 editions from various fields.
