Cinemas in Macedonia get new digital projectors

Eight digital projectors for cinemas in 14 culture centres in Macedonia and one for the Macedonian Film Fund are provided and will be installed in the next two weeks in Kumanovo, Struga, Ohrid, Kocani, Delcevo, Negotino, Kriva Palanka and Gostivar.

Projectors have been provided by US company Christie. Also blu-ray players providing high resolution while screening new films will also be installed.

The project announced on March 2012, is being realised through Macedonian Film Fund with a budget of almost Denar 11 million.

Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska at today's press conference presented the projectors to culture centres' directors and added that a mobile programme cinema projector has been provided intended for film screening for small populated places, not included in this project.

Through this very important project the Macedonian film producers will have the opportunity to realise larger distribution of films throughout the country for the citizens to be able to watch the latest production. I hope that the project's realisation will largely contribute to creation and development of the film culture in Macedonia, Kanceska-Milevska said.

Macedonian Film Fund Director Darko Baseski reveals at the press conference that two high quality projectors for Manaki Brothers and Cinedays festivals will also be provided next year.
