Nikola Madzirov's Poem Appears in Opera by German Composer


Poetry by Macedonian author Nikola Madzirov is included in the contemporary production of the Orpheus and Euridyce opera by Cristoph Willbald Gluck and directed by Andreas Viderman.

Viderman known as one of the most progressive German opera directors, premiered the opera in Munich on September 2, using Madzirov's poem "When someone is leaving, all that is created comes back". The poem was also declared as one of the best 50 love poems written in the last 50 years by the British Guardian newspaper.

Madzirov also had his poetry included in jazz compositions by Oliver Lake, an American composer who worked with Bjork and Lou Reed and it was also transforms into a classical music piece by Italian composer Angelo Inglese.
