Macedonia: Fifth Edition of MakeDox Starts in Skopje

The fifth edition of the Creative Documentary Film Festival “MakeDox” starts Saturday in Skopje’s Kurshumli An and Youth Cultural Center, promoting its motto “Natural”.

The Festival, which will run through June 20, will be opened with the film “Revolt”, directed by Stefan Sidovski. The main program starts at 9:00 p.m in Kurshumli An, with several other projections during the day at various locations.

“With the fifth MakeDox, we will try to remember, remind ourselves and feel what ‘natural’ means. We have maintained the old programs and the same number of screenings, expanding at the same time the additional program. Around 380 films were submitted this year from 64 countries around the world, which speaks of the festival’s recognition on the world map of documentaries,” Kirijana A. Nikoloska, Festival’s Director, said.

Authors from the Balkan countries, Spain, Israel, Germany and other countries take part in this year’ Festival.

Within the Festival, two workshops are to be organized, “Creative Use of Archival Footage in Documentary Films” and “Film Production”.

MakeDox traveling cinema will be held in August in eight villages in the Demir Hisar region.
