Prilep theater marks 63rd anniversary

Prilep-based Vojdan Cernodrinski National Theater marks Monday its 63rd anniversary with a special performance of its latest production, "Cepenkov's Dream", directed by Kiril Petreski.

"In the past 62 years, the theater has been on the rise and has left a permanent mark in Macedonia's theater art. Some of the greatest theater artists started their careers on the stage in Prilep, whereas myriad of plays are part of the collective memory not only of Prilep, but also beyond," said Toni Catleski, director of the Marko Cepenkov Center of Culture.

Since its establishment in 1950, over 360 plays - including drama, comedy and tragedy - were staged. Over the years, the national theater has scooped many accolades both at home and abroad
