Exclusive for Fans - Unplugged with Kaliopi

Next month sees a different kind of concert for the former Eurovision representative from Macedonia, Kaliopi, with a special unplugged, acoustic session.

Taking a trip to the Serbian capital of Belgrade next month, Kaliopi is set to provide the neighbouring audience with a first-time acoustic session, taking place at the Kolarac Concert Hall.

“Exclusive for fans”
Fairly new to the unplugged scene, Kaliopi promises “gourmet good-sounds” at her forthcoming concert, with the Kolarac being the ideal venue for such an event.

Kaliopi spoke of her upcoming Belgrade-hosted concert:

I cannot wait for the 25th of November because I’m preparing one of the biggest treats for the Belgrade audience, an unplugged concert, so I wanted to share it with them in Kolarac. A cool November is expected, but that’s why my “Bucket of love” will be full of the warmth and strength of the songs that lead me from town to town… Belgrade, wait for me!

The pop-rock/opera singer has planned to perform a number of her biggest past hits from over the years, some of which include Rođeni, Kofer ljubavi, Vučica and Mrvica, as well as one of Macedonia’s most successful hits at the Eurovision Song Contest, Crno i belo.

Kaliopi’s unplugged concert will take place on the 25 November, kicking off from 20:00 CET. Tickets are available for the upcoming concert via the Eventim website, as well as via the venue itself.

Kaliopi’s Eurovision past
Kaliopi has a long history with the much-loved European contest, first attempting to represent the nation at the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest. However with her entry Samo ti, the singer failed to qualify from the pre-qualifying round of the contest, therefore not making the actual Eurovision stage.

Sixteen years passed before Kaliopi finally managed to take to the Eurovision stage, representing her nation in the host city of Baku, Azerbaijan following an internal selection. Her entry, Crno i belo, became the nation’s second best result of all time, finishing in 13th place in the Grand Final.

Kaliopi’s last participation to date was in 2016 where the power-singer was internally selected once again to represent Macedonia. The nation only just missed out on qualifying to the Grand Final of the contest in Stockholm, Sweden, receiving 88 points in semi-final 2 and finishing in 11th place with her entry Dona.
