Macedonian Folk Festival to Be Held in Albanian City of Korca

The Macedonian Cultural Center Sonce will hold a festival of Macedonian traditional songs and dances in the southern Albanian City of Korca.

The SONCE 2015 festival will open on October 23, to coincide with the day when Macedonians celebrate the founding of the VMRO organization that fought for a Macedonian state against the Ottoman rule in the Balkans. Groups from Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo and Bulgaria will take part in the festival.

"Four Macedonian folk groups from Mala Prespa, Golo Brdo and Gora will take place in the festival. It will also include the Razloski Meraci and Priinski Glas from the town of Razlog, and from Macedonia, we will host the 'Macedonia' group", one of the organizers Vasil Sterjovski said.
