Days of Macedonian Poetry to Be Held in Sweden

At the new stage at the city library in Gothenburg on Saturday, the 25th anniversary of the traditional cultural event Days of Macedonian Poetry in Sweden will be marked.

The jubilee edition of this unique event of this type set by the Macedonian diaspora in Western Europe is supported by Swedish institutions and organizations, as well as by the Macedonian Culture Ministry and the Macedonian Immigration Agency.

Some 15 poets will take part in the poetry reading, and Ivan Antonovski will participate as a guest from Macedonia. He is the author of several poetry collections, and has been published in domestic and international anthologies.

"In the past two-and-a-half decades a large number of significant authors from Macedonia have participated. This year we have invited a poet from the younger generation which lately has seen interesting movements that impose on the Macedonian literrary scene more and more," says Ivica Celikovic, secretary of the Macedonian association in Sweden.
