Kaliopi to represent Macedonia at 2012 Eurovision Song Contest

Kaliopi Bukle has been chosen by MKTV to represent Macedonia at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. Kaliopi was the Macedonia representative at the pre-qualifying round for the 1996 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Samo Ti but did not make it to the final.

Kaliopi is one of the most popular singers in Macedonia and the former Yugoslavia. She was born in 1966 and showed a big interest in singing at a very early age. She won the childrens festival Zlatno Slavejče at just 10 years old. She then became a member of a singing group called 'Kaliopi' and had many hit song throughout the old Yugoslavia and big success in music festivals.

After winning the Skopje Fest in 1996 with Samo Ti she just missed out on making it to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest that year.

She has celebrated over 35 years in show business with many successful albums and performing in concerts and festivals throughout Macedonia and the world.

Kaliopi was chosen internally by MKTV to represent Macedonia at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. It is not sure yet whether a song will be chosen internally for Kaliopi or if there will be a special contest to pick the song.
